A lot more realistic if it was real than that on acid twaddle I see today.

I live in the US and use a standard QWERTY keyboard so the key combo is left shift + left control + the - key next to the 0. It sometimes takes me hitting that combo twice ONCE IN THE MISSION and after hitting OK to the first couple messages. Then in the upper left of your screen you'll get a menu of options. Click the speed button and it vastly speeds up animations and will make the game much better for you.
Has to be done every fight.
I used to play Space Invaders on an Atari 800 tape drive. The game moves a bit slow for my taste when it's a dozen light/medium mechs vs heavies and you're freaking zooming/panning all over the place but first to your mechs to make you think it's your turn but NOOOOO!!! Now just pan to your mech that just got hit by LRMs 20 times previously while you had to just watch, so you can watch it get nickled and dimed again.
I like this game but it's a little freakin' slow sometimes.
As someone else said, in settings, turn off the 5 cameras that run all the time and it gets dramatically faster without having to mod files.
I dont mind slower games, love the old X-com games and the new ones, but i do mind waiting for my mech to fall over for 10+seconds after its knock down fills up.
Theres realism, and then theres immersion breaking. This definitely falls in immersion breaking.
