4 mech bays?
ok so you start on the leopard which has a mech bay right? then you get the argo which can have 3 mech bays. So 3+1=4 right? and if you only use that mech bay to drop mechs why cant you drop 6 mechs?

Because the Argo can't land, and lacks drop pod launch systems. So you are limited to the 4 on the leopard

Sorry - this is a dead horse.

Argo is not a drop ship. If you take note of the Argo images - the Leopard is attached. A Leopard in Battlech lore can carry 4 mechs and 2 (yawn) aerospace fighters (yawn again)

AND more importantly the game was NEVER going to offer you 4 mechs to control

You do not "drop" mechs from your mech bays. You transport it to surface via Leopard. Leopard has space for four mechs and two aerospace fighters. And the game does not have aerospace fighters.
It is good to note that your merc company got Individual Argo-class DropShip by nonconvential means. It is a valuable starleague tech. Also while spaceworthy, it is basicaly rebuilt from wreck state, and lost many of it's former capabilities. There is no way a poor mercenary company can aquire anything like that. Even normal dropship. At least not in a span of several years. Very profitable and favorable years.
And given the financial state of your company in the begining of the campaign - it is a miracle you even have a Leopard.

I know the argo not a drop ♥♥♥♥ but the leopard has 1 mech bay. then you get the argo with the leopard on the out side that still has it mech bay ( I assume that were you drop the mechs from as well) so that still 1 mech bay on the leopard right? The argo has 3 mech bays (I know it not a drop ship ffs) but it has 3 mech bays right? so with the argo and the leopard ( that drops the mech) is on the outside still with one mech bay right? so 3+1=4 right? so if you then use the leopard just to drop mechs now why cant it drop 6? or why camt it drop 6 as soon as you have 6 mechs?

You assumed wrong and it's not mech commander.
Argo not a drop ship. You select the four mech's you want and obviously they are loaded into the four spaces on the Leopard which then enters the atmosphere and either drops the mech's or lands to let them walk out. What's not to get?

Because in BT lore dropships are rare and expensive. Original BT universe was set up as 'dark age' Because the game was NEVER designed to give you 4 mech's to control. The difficulty of missions is sort of determined by number svof enemies.
