Remove the medium lasers if you don't want back up weapons or extra close range punch.
Might not hit as hard as most but it's actually a core variant from the game after all (MAD-3M)

This thing is my Head Killer. 12% with only first Call Shot bonus.
It is fun and has a role use - but I find in general it lacks in the powerhouse role.
Might actually swap the medium lasers for Larges for the extra punch at range. IT's a tough and heat efficient chassis, and does the command role rather well.
So 1 snub nose ppc, 1 pulse m laser, ac 5, however many m lasers work, 2-3 S lasers, close to max armour (a heat exchanger could he nice and a bank + could he is nice). Telling ya this mech beasts with that build. I did try a variant where I dropped a little armour and a m laser or 2 for a L laser but I didnt like it quite as much.
I found another heavy so now am just rolling with more of a stock build, 2 ppcs, the ac 5, and one medium laser. Dropped a bit if armour. Thats fairly good sustained damage. I'm gonna tweak it more though.

Armor on both is around 1000, so some stripping is necessary(not that it matters with the range you have with them). Rest of the tonnage goes into double heatsinks, heatbanks, exchangers and energy/ballistic TTS
If it's an early build and you don't yet have stocks of OP-gear, 2 Snub PPCs and an LBX5 are fine. A meta(and as disgustingly OP as it is derpy-looking) build would be to use 3x UAC2 and 4 M Lasers.

Both pretty good, the triple uac2 build is a headcritting machine tho.
they are nice weapons, but they are referring to the fact even the best one can not kill a pilot with a head shot.. something the marauder excels at.
