heavy metal crate starting career mode

So what did you get? would like to see if it is standard or random.
I got
Vulcan mech, snub nose pppc and a lbx 2

The DLC content just slots in to the regular gameplay, because most of it is just stuff that's used in random contracts. Flashpoints show up after the Campaign Story, or a couple weeks in to Career.

The bonus crate of Heavy Metal goodies, on the other hand, seems like it might be only at the beginning of a new Career. It pops up like an event, after a day passes.

(so, you can test if it comes up in an already started Career easily enough - just let a day or two pass.)

I just started a new career and it was the same old blackjack/panther/urban/etc.

When you pass a day, Yang shows up and says "Hey, some new gear 'fell off a truck.' Want some?" And you can either choose to accept the crate of goodies (a new Mech, and a couple pieces of gear) or just continue on with your regular Career.

When you start the career mode just fast forward 1 hour in game and then it pops up for you...

Just got a hawk and a pair of ultra 2s and a inferno pack... now I just need a blackjack salvaged

Starting lance was fun too... 2 enforces, 2 comandos (the davion variant with large lasers) and a firestarter

I just bought and installed the season pass, all 3 DLCs. I started a new career and I did not get a crate. I refitted like 3 of my starting mechs, so many days have passed.

Steam was having problems today and I bought the season pass during that time...I uninstalled the DLC and reinstalled it and got the crate.
