Urbanmech in campaign
iirc urbanmech was deliberately disabled by the devs in campaign. after a few patches, is it still the case?

It wasn't disable to begin with.

It was disabled as an AI-mech in the field - so virtually no chance to loot it in vanilla game... Question still stands

only played 3 mission so far so no idea but it would be a shame if they add new varients and dont add them in.

I faced one in one of the new flash points

I believe you can end up with the Urbie at the campaign start with the new random starting mech option. Having played with Urbies in the 3025 Extended mod since version 1.4, getting one for that first desert mission is way OP. Even the AC10 Urbie can take out the enemy mechs and two vehicles by itself, even the Shad. The AC20 version is overkill on top of overkill, at least at first.

isnt random starting mech option is only for career mode?

I haven't started a campaign yet with the new release. Been too busy the last couple of days. Did I misread the patch notes? Oh, well. I'll just have to hope for a quickly updated 3025 Extended mod for Urban Warfare. I got hooked on starting with lighter mechs and a longer game, instead of the vanilla mix in the campaign with the BJ-1 at the start.

Edit: You're correct. It's the same old starting mechs in the vanilla campaign. BJ, Shad, Vin and Spider. Way too OP for my taste. Ah, well. Looks like it's career mode for me until TheHaribo can update 3025 Extended.

Pretty sure the black market has been available since the start. I had it during my campaign, and i started at launch. Seems like 50% chance to see urbie every time i stop at one. Not sure if its available in other stores.

If you mean disabled from AI using, you should be more specific.

i can now confirm that AI use urbanmech in campaign mode, even the AC20 model one. managed to salvage it as a whole

Also confirmed... cored a few of them already in my latest campaign playthrough. No less was there an AC/20 variant in the urban map battle mission and it did it's classic city-fighting tactic. Stepped out behind a building, legged my Light scout and moved away from my 3 Medium Mechs. I was like "WTF that was legit!!! lol fml that repair is gonna take some time."

Urbanmech are in game and you can salvage, and even buy one, but both are rare, you had to fight lot of battle to get better chance to see it, (I play easiest level where light mech is more often than normal and hard level, hard level might rare light mech and common medium to heavy mech)

But I don't see a point because by time you got urbanmech, you already had very powerful mech heavy to asst mech, why use light mech, unless it's raven, that light mech isn't bad but good to be useful but I rather taken full firepower and armors than gave up one for Raven.

agree, the first time 1 saw an urbanmech, my lance was already filled with meds. and by the time i saw the AC20 model, my lance already consist of 3 heavies and a kingcrab. so yeah, redundant
