Ravenfield

Ravenfield

We need an option to turn off the fog/smoke effect in Ravenfield.
It causes way too much lag and given most of the best modded maps have it I want to turn it off so i can enjoy the map properly. I'm sure everyone with lower graded computers will agree right?

no it would work the settings are part of the actual game not the mod. Anything mod or official will all use the same setting because they are all the same game: Ravenfield. So that wouldn't matter.

but I doubt map modders whos already created maps would change things to fit this new thing so it becomes togglable? Although itd be nice to link it with the quality settings

he wouldn't need to. It would be a feature of the game. Game settings apply to everything mod or official.

So basically an option to turn off particle emitters. If you mean that by "fog". Though I wouldn't see how fog particles could be detected as such.

Well whatever you want to call it. The issue i think could be easily if we had an option to turn off those extra effect that just lag the game. We don't need them, they only cause problems, they make it hard to see anything, and they're not even that pretty. This game would be better without these extras at least then it would run smoothly for WAY more people.

Do you have an example of a map where the fog is really bad?

yes try the mehmap version 2. It lags badly for me. I know it's probably just my computer not being strong enough (even though I've upgraded the hell out of it.) But that's exactly what the problem is. We need this setting for those whose computers for whatever reason, despite meeting all recommended stats continue to have lag problems and frame drops.
