Disabling the HUD?
I cant find the option to just disable the HUD.

Pressing the "Home" and "End" key on your keyboard will do it if you are playing on PC.
If you are playing on Mac, then I can't help you. It might be possible nonetheless but I don't know how.

The home key gets rid of the score but my end key does nothing. Is this whats meant to happen?

Nope, the end key should've gotten rid of the weapon / health status

To disable the hud on mac, press function (fn) left and right arrow.
