Slow-mo doesnt work on conquest for me, the thing i found annoying is that draws are always for raven instead of an RNG decision.
the key is to build up your force to be equal to or more than the enemy force on any particular tile and move hard and fast to deny them any tiles that would help the regenerate more troops
understanding when to retreat is a useful skill as well.
my only gripe with the mode is that it seems so limited and under-baked for what it is (the only reason im not more vocal about it is that the creator is just one man so i understand these things take time) opening it up to mod support, and/or in the ability to custamize your games with new levels, guns, perks and new tile lane boards like you can with instant action would be such a game changer.
you gotta get gear that the ai don't have
or have a counter to their tech
they have an apc?
get a rocket launcher
its all about strategy
and if its too hard
mutators work in conquest
you just gotta turn them on in instant action

i second this the ravens will always gain control of the center zone before you can and will start picking your men off one by one like fish in a barrel as they advance down the tunnel.
defending the starting zone reverses this effect and you will be able to cut them down just as easily
this stratagy also somewhat works for the fishing village as well, capture the center zone below the waterfall and the zone above the waterfall grab a scoped weapon plant yourself behind a crate in the center and aim for headshots
easy victory.
+1
i myself thought it was really too easy, but then again all i play is XCOM and battletech lol if the only thing you play is FPS games then i see how you might stumble a bit when it comes to stratagy board.
i was getting my ass handed to me in the actual engagements before i reactivated my years of HALO 2 training and started going for headshots.
