Ravenfield

Ravenfield

Is it just me, or is conquest too hard?
Conquest is extremely bot-sided. The bots start with more territory, meaning they get more people, more tech, and more money. This would be fine if the base game was more player-sided, but it really isn't, so I find myself constantly on the defense, with the bot having double my troops.
On top of this, playing the game inside of the conquest isn't the best either, I was doing a tunnel defense, and half my team killed themselves because I was behind a pillar, and they just run in front of me, getting shot in the head.

I beat it (before tech). It just requires legitimate strategy at times, especially final battle. And remember you *do* have slow-mo mode. I don’t use it when in conquest often for the challenge but with it you basically win. I don’t think it’s too hard, but without utilising battle plans and whatnot it may become slightly one-sidled. Good luck on the Ravenfield, soldier! :sentry:

The conquests are pretty hard, but they are fun though.

Yes they do give the advantage to the bots. You have to play defensive because the bots have more than you do and they have more troops too. Sometimes it even feels like they have more turns than I do. But after lots of fights and lots of effort, you eventually beat them
I know how hard conquest is
So hard I've only beat it once and i lose the citadel in less than 4 or 3 turns.

Slow-mo doesnt work on conquest for me, the thing i found annoying is that draws are always for raven instead of an RNG decision.

We need to get mod support into conquest as soon as possible. Just open it up to the workshop and let the modders sort it out, that's where the other 75% of the game's content is currently anyway. Oh yeah and bullet time was specifically taken out of conquest mode.

Not difficult at all at least for me if anything i thought it was too easy, requires strategic play in order to win, if you try and rambo it without considering which points you are capturing and when you will be steam rolled by overwhelming odds.

the key is to build up your force to be equal to or more than the enemy force on any particular tile and move hard and fast to deny them any tiles that would help the regenerate more troops

understanding when to retreat is a useful skill as well.

my only gripe with the mode is that it seems so limited and under-baked for what it is (the only reason im not more vocal about it is that the creator is just one man so i understand these things take time) opening it up to mod support, and/or in the ability to custamize your games with new levels, guns, perks and new tile lane boards like you can with instant action would be such a game changer.

all in the strategy
you gotta get gear that the ai don't have
or have a counter to their tech
they have an apc?
get a rocket launcher
its all about strategy
and if its too hard
mutators work in conquest
you just gotta turn them on in instant action

Tip-Dont push mid, let them attack your crossroads, when fighting at the mountain pass road, have all your units defend the starting zone and havee them all follow the defense orders, you will win almost ever game with that strat, battles can be 1 v 3 against you on that map and with the strat you will always win if done right

i second this the ravens will always gain control of the center zone before you can and will start picking your men off one by one like fish in a barrel as they advance down the tunnel.
defending the starting zone reverses this effect and you will be able to cut them down just as easily

this stratagy also somewhat works for the fishing village as well, capture the center zone below the waterfall and the zone above the waterfall grab a scoped weapon plant yourself behind a crate in the center and aim for headshots

easy victory.

i myself thought it was really too easy, but then again all i play is XCOM and battletech lol if the only thing you play is FPS games then i see how you might stumble a bit when it comes to stratagy board.

i was getting my ass handed to me in the actual engagements before i reactivated my years of HALO 2 training and started going for headshots.
