I know about doing that but it is anoying to do every single tie your helicopter or bomber is shot down

That happens to me all the time so I just never use gunners unless I'm forced to or a bot is the pilot

This cuts off a large and fun portion of the game aswell because i dont want to be the person who is controling the directions and location of where the person is going

There are some mods that have figured out to have different seats as different vehicles. That Anti Air boat that's abreviated to AASS is like that. The AA gun is a sepparate part of the ship. It's possible to do doorgunners like that (without commanding the unit), I reckon.

This is the boat I was talking about. If you hold your squad key, you can tell an AI to enter the boat or the AA gun.

I know about these mods but then still with the rest of the vehicles that are modded and vanila it just doesnt work

how new is this because a few hours ago i made the person fly a helicoper over to the aircraft carrier on archipeligo

Well, you can't use Squad Leader Kit inside a heli, but what you said means that you ordered a guy to follow you and you entered gunner seat
