Being a sniper is kinda useless...

When you're given a marksman weapon and simply try to snipe enemies, you aren't really doing much to help out your team, you aren't capturing any points, you don't kill enough people to make a difference in a Skirmish battle, and there are generally too many enemies to stop them all from reaching a point... This isn't helped by the fact that the AI is really dumb and doesn't really rush to counter hostile action, nor do they really know how to properly use vehicles half the time, soooo... Being a sniper doesn't really do much, and that's sad, because I love playing a sniper... Sure, Spec Ops exists, and in that gamemode, sniping is actually effective, but, in all others, you can't really change the way the battle goes as a sniper, which is really important, since you can't rely on the bots to even capture an undefended point half the time.

Then you can decrease the number of bots and increase the spawntime. Sniping will be useless of course when there are over 100 bots constantly respawning in every 5 seconds.

Point denial can be important if you're trying to prevent an enemy from getting somewhere before your team. Otherwise, if a point isn't defensible you can take up somewhere else and defend from there.

Nah, if you use any weapon besides sidearms or marksmen rifles, you can literally slaughter the entire enemy team

are you talking no mods? cause there's some mods that add BMGs in and 50 call snipers and some really good snipers. the base sniper is kinda sucky tbh. and being a sniper is less about what weapon you use and more about your load out, if you really wanna play the role of a sniper, you need to take out big targets, like tanks, helis, or scouts on ATVs. sniping isn't useless, you just can't rely on winning with 1 gun while playing on only 1 hill

Being anything is basically useless in Ravenfield. But that's not the point. This is just like every other war game out there: just mindlessly kill everyone who isn't on your team. How is that not fun? It doesn't matter if it serves a purpose, there is no better joy in my life than either rampaging through stupid AI bots or getting on highly populated multiplayer servers and just going ham on the noobs. It never gets old I swear!

btw as a ps, I believe Steel said he would add the new mutation category on the workshop once the current beta version becomes the new stable version. Basically meaning the next "major" update
