Ravenfield

Ravenfield

How to get better performance? Mods? In-game settings?
My Ravenfield experience has always been somewhat rocky. The game usually bogs down to 20-30fps. I was just wondering if anyone knew why the Ai makes the game so laggy and if there is any way to get better frames (besides lowering the number of bots)?

Computer specs if wondering:
-Nvidia Geforce GTX 1050
-AMD Phenom II X4 960T processor. Overclockable to 3.6 ghz
-8.00 gb ddr3 ram
-X64 system

Put the graphics settings down. Also your processor will definitely limit performance - ai is processor heavy.

Its self explanatory... AMD Phenom II... DDR3...join beta branch that will help but barely with your pc. Just give yourself a new one

I don't quite agree, I have an i3 prossessor, nvidia gt 1030, and (a cough) 32 gb DDR3 RAM and I can play Ravenfield just fine. I have noticed lately that mods, mostly vehicles made my fps drop insanely.

To answer your question tschdean, put the graphics to lowest (it isn't that much uglier anyway), you can change the resolution, it helps A LOT, and don't put too much bots. Also, don't play super high-poly maps or the ones with a lot of vegetation.

So if I was to upgrade part of my computer. What would be most important to run these types of games better? Processor I assume? I think my ram is probably fine.

Your ram and gpu are ok. I don't know the AMD processor but I guess it would be the part to upgrade, even if mine is not that powerful either.

Upgrading your CPU = upgrading RAM. Your CPU needs an upgrade. 1050 should be just fine

Which i3 is it? I mean this is a cpu almost as bad as a i3 2100. DDR3 can be affecting performance of mods but not too much. 8GB might be too low depending on how many mods he is using. Since the game is unoptimized there is a chance RAM leaks as well

Well the thing about upgrading the CPU is that my motherboard is quite old and doesn't support many new CPU's. So really, it is almost inevitable that I upgrade both my CPU and Motherboard. And at that point, I might as well upgrade the Ram.

In any case, I think my thread has been mostly solved.

Its not because of that but the fact that DDR3 is no longer supported with newer cpus. Back to skylake or something like that
