There is only 32 players in a server.
Not in the numbers seen in game they were not, and definitely not between 1914 and 1916. Rifles were the standard, for nearly all infantry at the time. Amazing I know, but they didn't run around spraying each other from the hip with submachine guns!
Impossible to make it realistic due to numbers in the server.
Another one had a mg.
Another one had another mg.
Another one had a flamethrower.
....
No it was immersion breaking for me. Way too much gear for a WW1 setting.
Bolt action rifles, bayonets, some mgs there and there. Much better.
But eh, that's my opinion, just sharing it. If you don't agree, then... don't agree.
Why ? Look at Tannenberg, everyone is fighting with rifles yet it's 64 players cap.
Perfect !
The game is in beta and it's subject to change. Shotguns were used by the US and scoped rifles were not used much on the Eastern Front.
Which isn't the point. Rifles are the go to option, rifles were and should be far more common (millions made as opposed to a few thousand submachine guns etc). This game strives to be more realistic than its peers, and it does so, within the limitations of a game.
like 1-2 squads max
I'm aware, but to say it feels less like true WWI does not make sense. Those weapons they listed were used. More limited? Yes. Excluded? No.
They were used, even more than specialist weapons in WW1. Yet will you say that it feels a complete WW2 experience?
No, read above.
Besides I think it would be fair, if you want that kind of stuff go play Verdun, if you want a more rifle-centered experience go play Tannenberg.
