Tannenberg
Why people do not like realistic games?
I have played Verdun and i'm sure that this game is as much good, if not better. With that most of the players choose BF1 or any other mainstream game over it. What is the reason for this tendency? are people in 2018 are not interested in products with attention to details and historical authenticity?

Games with heavy emphasis on 'realism' are nowhere near as accessable. Clunkier mechanics, much slower pace, usually higher difficulty, etc. I'm sure many people would appreciate attention to details and authenticity today if it were a mainstream title. The first few Cods and MoHs were built upon their authentic campaigns, of course.

Then there's the fact that most 'realistic' titles are developed by indie teams who lack funding and adequate media coverage to actually get their games off the floor. You'd only really ever hear about these games if they popped up on your Steam Store feed or otherwise word-of-mouth. Plus, they're usually constrained to the PC and as such have more or less complex control schemes and mechanics than what you'd find on a console game

I wouldn't really consider Verdun or... this one... 'realistic' though anyway. They've all got their own set of problems.

By "realistic" here i mean greater attention to details and historical authenticity as well as a feeling of common sesne which does not exist in the recent BF games but exists in this one

"Do not" is a big statement, it's more like niche, subset of people. The same goes with historical documentaries of ww2 over Inglorious basterds. It's all about limitation I guess, where visually reality looks more 'dorky' and less dashing (bf1) and in terms of gameplay restricting movement to simulate more accurately troop movements etc.
Hi, BF1 is not that "bad". There are problems in the game itself that allow STUPID players to do that. Other things are the weapons used that were in the time but not used in war at all... well, that can be fixed allowing only hihger level squad leaders and in a fixed maximum value per game, for example. Friendly fire and communication to "feel" inside the battlefield is the key. Graphics (going into "visual realism") do add to the equation. So called "friendly fire" is what I'll never understand: setting no friendly fire allow people to shoot before checki what they are shooting, so always do the old Han Solo style (shoot first) than check if it is freindly or not, so you always shoot... or in case of artillery/mortar/granades (area effect weapons) when people tend to "throw" indiscriminately as "team members" are not going to be hit... That removes 90% "realism" in a row... If you are afraid of hitting a partner: do not SHOT until checking; and if people are afraid of that, it is a problem of them... I suppose here you lack the "fast/easy resupply" like in BF1 and the " retarded granade parties" will not happen (but due to not having so much of them...).

If "realistic" means moving and checking and not exposing yourself to avoid being hit... then that's what I want. People liking running and shooting have stupid brainless games like Unreals and modern kind of absurd kid games. If you want to make a "different" game do it in all circumstances, or at least allow to have that "realism" at wish (servers on both friendly fire on and off), at least it's like I see it. I don't look for run and shoot... but to feel and act like it was then and I don't think people was running thinking on next "spawn"...

crosshair, fast movement, tiny looking game world in relation to fov and movement, sorry but this kinda breaks immersion for me, i kinda expected a RO like game set in WW1, but this game plays and looks much more like BF1. Also there are like 10 server with 5 people each on it instead of having one server at least half full.

You do know you can turn off hud?

Also verdun/tanenberg is as realistic as war thunder. This game is not realistic... It's hardcore authentic shooter. That's all. If you want realism you can look at arma, dcs, il2, steel beasts. Stuff like that.

It's the same with everything, why do people listen to some trash pop where some half naked lady repeats over and over one sentence that does not even make sense, while just few people will listen to classic Mozart etc. People will watch another dumb movie that will make any thinking person want to puke due to stupid story with no logic but it has explosions all the time so it's cool.

People want to run and shoot, they don't want bolt action rifles, being killed with 1 hit. They want vehicles and explosions, demolitions. There are still people who love and will play these unpopular games. It's not only about hardcore shooters but turn based games, rpg like baldurs gate or strategic games like mius front, these type of games just have smaller fan base.

You want the truth?
Here is the truth.
Gamers make up a population of young white male gamers and are a unified culture.
This makes not only our government insecure, but SJW feminist groups triggered as well.
Censorship not only applies to words and ideas, but also to hobbies and groups.
The invasive politically correct culture doesn't want us playing violent videogames like this, they would rather us play childish games like Fortnite that are cartoony and filled with multicultural characters.
Its really sad because I wanted to buy this game, but after seeing the population, I dismissed the idea since it's not thriving. I then questioned, why is this happening???
I am really sorry to sound like a mean guy, but I am telling you the truth.
They don't want white male gamers unified and playing war games, or questioning History.
They don't want swastikas in World War II games.
They don't want you to study History, they'd rather you just pretend it didn't happen and become this sickening One World Multicultural PC culture where geographical borders don't exist and everyone is enslaved to that one regime that hides behind the illusion of "cultural unification".

Fortnite is cartoony trash but yet thousands of people play that because it gets the promotional spotlight where as games like Verdun and this, don't even reach to the userbase of Steam because of the sensitive nature that it touches history and intense violence.
On top of that,
how many people are even interested in World War I or II???
This rampant drug/alcohol culture is just making people dumber and dumber to the point where they don't even care about picking up a history book or watching a documentary. They'd rather hop out of a plane in PUBG, parachute down and pew pew pew pew for no apparent reason while looting and stealing other people's gear.
