Tannenberg
why is this and verdun so dead?
Like seriously? both are fun as hell, everyone cries for a realistic WW1 after BF1, yet here are 2 perfectly historically accurate WW1 FPS games that go over the top with realism and no one plays it. wtf?

Steam summer sale wasn't as good for the smaller games this year, didn't do much advertising for them I think so didn't get the boost. Plus with Verdun it has now been on sale for 5 years so I think a lot of those who wanted got it. Majority of players don't stick with games for long periods, especially with nothing new, so expect a large spike when the new content arrives.

For me it´s pretty much fatigue. I can only play so much Verdun and after putting a decent amout of hours in Tannenberg, I'd rather wait till it's finished.

even then you would think it would have at least 1000 players, not struggling to keep 100

For me every time I play this game I get annoyed by it way too soon.

There is barely any notable progression being made on the development.

The UI, the FPS, the minimap, the big map, the player model getting stuck on everything, the fatique etc etc. This game is just annoying in its current state and non of the mayor issues have been fixed in about 6 months.

I don't care about new color jackets or new nations etc. Fix the core of the game then add new toys.

To be truthful, people always cry out for more "realism" in games, but don't actually know what they're talking about most of the time. For most people, realism isn't actually fun--crawling around prone taking potshots at passerbys, only occasionally getting up to attack. What people actually mean by "realism" in BF1 is that they wanted bolt-actions that reliably one-hit kill things and that everyone has to use bolt-actions, but they don't actually care enough for it to matter. Tactical shooters have always been niche and pretty much always will be--people find it either too tense or too boring to enjoy most of the time. For those of us that do enjoy it, at least we're privy to some of gaming's best, in its own way.
It doesn't help that Tac shooters are usually high-end games that only run on PC, of course.

People and especially Kids wants things like COD, stupid fast shooting mechanic with some "fancy" graphic
Nice shooters like Verdun and Tannenberg aims for more mature people which is a smaller market

No, this game is just quite bad.

The minimap is horrible, way too tiny and not usefull.

The game is not runnign as smooth as it should, although the horrible stuttering seems to be gone now. Still isnt optimized well enough.

There is no compass.

The UI is unreadable half the time.

The scorebord is FFing horrible.

The spawnpoints are crap hafl the time.

The quads are doing what?

The character get stuck on tiny twigs.

The stamina is weird etc etc etc

i cant understand a single point of your ciritic... it is not a AAA Game with multi million Euro budget. You need to look at it with a realstic point of view.

I have no problems with minimap, UI etc. only the perfomance could be a bit better.

minimap is an easy fix. Player icon always on top and scale the whole thing according to resolution. Even better, let us scale it ourselfs.

I know this is not a triple A game but I'm waiting for half a year now and see barely any improvement (I dont see new clothing and cosmetics as improvement) to the core of the game.

Also there are no players, so Im not alone in thinking this game in its current state is just not good enough

that's how I play, it's a lot of fun actually. you should try it sometime.
NOT SURE ABOUT VERDUN BUT TANNEN ITS CUSS OF THE BOTS

For me it's mostly annoyance over the lack of leaning in this game. I feel restricted into making stupid moves that get me killed when I shouldn't be, not in a game like this.

Edit: also disappointment in stupid FPS genre tropes like hit indicators. Just, ugh.

Every hardcore game have smaller player base than arcade non-realistic run and gun / spray and pray...
Because of kids and younger players want to ratatatatatatatata all over the place... + they dont have got such a good aim like experienced older players (not in all cases) - and its a big disadvantage in bolt action rifle combat... ;-) so they try it, we kick their as s e s on server and only small % of them can handle it and continue and learn to play and improve aim and movement, unfortunately many of them just run away back to BF, CoD or CSGO...

I agree with you Verdun and Tannenberg are awesome games, and they should have 10 times bigger playerbase atleast... but... :/

When you take a look on the game called Insurgency - its pretty nice game, graphic, engine, physics, sounds, pretty much everything... BUT its hardcore too... so - it has small playerbase too - BUT - you ve got automatic weapons there, because its modern combat - so, playerbase is still much bigger than in bolt action HC games... because n oo bs without precise aim can run and spray and sometime they ve got just a luck to kill someone.... when you go with bad aim to bolt action - its suicide.. :) so they get bored from that they suck at it and move to some game where they have some chance - and thats logical... :/

Young players nowadays are just too lazy to learn + they dont want to use their brains so.... thats it..

What utter bullcrap. You cannot compare insurgency to verdun and tannenberg since insurgency is waaaay waaaay better. Tannenberg and Verdun have low playerbases because they arent very good games and development isnt very promising.

Tannenberg runs like ♥♥♥♥ especially if you take into account how ugly it is. Then there is the gameplay that is buggy and really not smooth at al. Insurgency doesnt have these problems.

No I'm afraid the playerbase is quite bad because the games are quite bad

Well I just played a few battles in Verdun only 5 matches available , and Tannenberg 0 ...just yesterday I played 2 matches ...Its quite strange
