Polish Legion?
Did the devs say anything about adding some sort of polish legion? the triple alliance could use more squads, just saying.

Did they?

Nope
central powers need more squads for sure the problem is they wont add any unless they have new weapons look at potential weapons discussion we had a huge debate with more than 8 pages on weapons, squads and maps and even more game modes

the only way i can see new squads being added is if
they allow not just standard issue rifles and pistols but rarer ones and ones officers bought and brought to the front

but that has to be very limited per squad and per team

Except that’s never going to happen! The devs have said in the past they are trying represent the normal standard units and not the unique/uncommon. Also the last thing this game needs is single individuals running around in a squad for just a small handful of uncommon weapons
and thats exactly why no future squads will be added.....
and i never said the entire squad maybe only 1 to 2 guys max

or u could even have it so u have to find them on the battlefields maybe on corpses of dead soldiers that can be seen on the maps which if only 1 soldier can pick the weapon up it will keep it very limited

the problem with polish legion is that they fought for
austrian hungarian empire
german empire
russian empire

although i would like to see them added for both sides
i would like to also see
croatian troops but they used same weapons as austria only difference in some uniforms although i cant tell what rank they were wore black uniforms with a sort of top hat
final one i would like to see
czech legion

I agree about that, there are still a couple of less common issued rifles/carbines left for both sides but visually similar to existing ones but not cheap to make.

A Polish legion should have been first befor latvian riflemen. dev's shot themselves in the head

There is factual evidence of german and russian front line use of madsen lmg's in 1914,

There is evidence of russian use of hotchkiss m1909 lmg's in late 1915,

There is factual evidence of russian front line use of chauchat lmg's in mid 1916,

There is factual evidence of german and russian front line use of lewis lmg's - mg08/15's and bergmann lmg's in mid 1917,

I can go on with flamethrowers and sniper rifles but this is all irrelevant as the dev's clearly don't care for historical accuracy and are more interested in there anti historical political correctness.:steamsad:

I don't really think that there is any kind of political correctness move?

The devs didn't add mobile machine guns because of balance and the fact that most MGs used were fixed.
There is proof, but maybe not proof of massive use of lmgs in the front.

I agree they shouldve added a polish legion before latvian riflemen, but i really don't see how that is "PC".

Already been said it wont happen. It's same cost of the new squad but no benefit to the gameplay.

here's a summary of puzzlign and contradictory moves the devs made for tannenberg:

  • they added weird (wrong & ahistorical uniforms & weapons) cossacks despite the claim of never addign cavalry, datign back to verdun
  • they added bulgarians despite them addign no new weapon (the M1890 carbine was also used by austro-hugnarians and romanians and should have been already added with any of those squads)
  • they added latvian rfilemen with no new weapons that were unique to them. meanwhile they removed the russian imperial eagle from their badge and added post-WW1 latvian rank insignia datign to the subsequent russian civil war, which is still not fixed AFAIK.
  • furthermore, the squads are now biased in favor of the entente, despite the CP outnumberign entente countries on the eastern front without any explanation whatsoever. this also in spite of clear evidence of the austro-hungarian polish legion beign armed with mannlicher-schönauer rifles that were unique to that legion.

in summary, the devs have shown a clear bias against the CP already somewhat evident from verdun, plus a new bias against russians.

so, can we expect any kind of new squad whatsoever? Especially on the alliance side?

Honestly the Entente is to biased it’s not fair if they got another squad to keep the bias up

for verdun we tried to find another potential squad for the CP, we failed. we have some interesting weapons that could be given to existing squads but for new squads, nah.

however for tannen, new CP squads are totally possible
