While the front did cover larger areas it wasn't that diverse, these areas saw large swings due to the scale of the region and the low infrastructure. 3 maps per region of fields with a small village in a different part wont feel that different or unique and wont take long to memorise still.

unfortunately Tannenberg does not look like the Eastern Front - 1915-1917
This is a good point. I think the battle of "Tannenberg" was mainly in this kind of area. What influenced the Russian army a lot.
