As for Greater Wisps, they have individual damage numbers for impact and explosions they're pretty much the only enemy capable of one hit killing you in the game and that usually comes down to you not paying attention to the giant green skull firing projectiles at you.
Finally, for the elite ability, knock them into walls. Deals with them real fast. Or stack up on old guillotines either way will do ya.
that's cute considering it was the lesser whisp not the BIG whisp. not to mention it used it's lock on ability and hit 1500 on me, we're talking about my run and my experience. in which you didn't experience. thanks for trying to put a logical reasoning behind the fact a lesser whisp can get a OP elite Buff and 1 shot a TANK built Rex. have a good day sir.
honestly, I have never seen somebody not get one-shot by a Malachite elite. Playing huntress, drizzle, Malachite hermit crab takes off all of my health instantaneously. Malachite beetle swatted my engineer friend out of existence (again, drizzle). Malachite lemurian ended two teammate's lives (this one was rainstorm though).
you can even say "blah blah one-shot-protection blah blah", but in all of those cases, the victims were not at full health. Even so, the fact that an enemy can take off 90% of your health in one hit is still unfair.
Lessers because of the volley they fire and Greaters because the damage is divided between the initial impact and the explosion. As for getting oneshot by malachite spikes, I can't say I've had that happen to me but they seem dangerous so I'll take your word for it.
As for how to fix these problems? I don't know, I'm not a game developer. Maybe you should submit some feedback in the feedback forum.
1. grabbing primordial cube + pray i get more than 1 will-o-wisp
2. grabbinig royal capacitor and hope it slams them into the floor for the bonus damage
3. Hope the game was nice enough to give me a few guillotines instead of 7 fireworks
Things you can try not related to busted RNG reliant item strats:
1.REX can push them into walls, but you're playing a game of chicken at that point.
2.Commando's ult can shove them into walls too, and is probably the easiest way to kill one.
3.As long as you keep your cooldowns up so you're always either invincible or out of range, Merc can put up with them somewhat. The i-frames of blinding dash let you pass through spikes and I think is the only way to "destroy" them.
Best insult to a strong enemy I've ever seen.
"You planted grass?"
You really want to know who's on top of their game this update? Mercenary. He's ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ things up real amazing. Why? R is an invul state and does insane damage because the amount of hits scales with Attack Speed and thus making procs insanely effective. Shift is another Invul State that lets you dash again when you dash past an enemy (and deal damage, might I add) for up to three times per stock. What Malachite Wisp? Those are his breakfast. No, his only downside is that Imp Overlords, Elder Lemurians and Magma Worms forces him to actually need to reposition and use his abilities well enough to avoid any damage from them.
Oh, and to add to those spices, they fixed the double cooldown bug on his Shift and gave his Invul state the ability to ignore proc application. Don't tell me that's not amazing.
Malachite enemies are meant to counter Tank builds. Pure tank will fail against Malachite as you take too long to kill them whilst they can negate your healing and kill you easily. It's better to go Brooch + All Offensive for the late-game.
why would malachite enemies spawn in before ELITE bosses when a malachite enemy has more hp and damage than a elite boss?
it's obviously a bad balance issue on the developers side.
rename the game to risk of malachites
the ocean is so salty because everyday it waves at the land and the land doesn't wave back.
pointing out something in a serious manner may make me look like a dk, but i'm sorry for making points about a imbalance in a game. read the forums.
sorry for being honest... well actually im not. enjoy Mr. crabs.
Malachite Lesser wisps are flat out the most dangerous elite currently. Their hitscan shotgun laughs at the idea of oneshot protection and if one decides to fire at you from behind, you're toast. They're an absolute terror unless you can vaporize them instantly (which is reliant on having gotten enough guillotines to trivialize encounters with them or at least having royal capacitor to smash them into the dirt). They're almost as bad as pre-patch Blazing Titan, just with an ant-sized hitbox and an actually unavoidable attack.
dude these guys who defend RoR2's current bs probably like Roguelands, which is the most garbage roguelike i've ever played..... like i wish i can pay money to take that game off my list (jk) it'll stay in my hidden list with many many many many many other garbage games i own.
the funny thing is... the whisp came behind me and killed me while i didn't see it..... literally after i burned the boss down i died.
