Finding out what happened to the ROR1 Characters?

Now before i begin i fully understand ROR2 is in early access in its early days so perhaps this will be tackled further down the road map or maybe never at all, but i would like to put my two cents out there and suggest an idea.

Given ROR2 at this point is a sequel to ROR1 but currently we're not sure continuity wise but for the characters that will not be returning from ROR1 i was thinking the possibility of what happened to them and i came up with 2 possible ideas.

The first idea would be following a dark souls method of background story telling (which i believe the game is currently going for if you read the medkit log entry) in which small hints and vague suggestions are mentioned in the logbook entrys from items to monsters about what may have happened to them.

The second idea would be to find thier fallen remains in possibly very hard to get to locations in the maps with the random chance of spawning, and upon finding their remains the player would also find a log entry culminating thier final thoughts and moments. Also with this perhaps also a line for the living cast from ROR1 to say a simple but unspoken line of dialogue for example the commando saying rest in peace to say the enforcer.

Again this is only an idea or suggestions and with ROR2 being early access i'm sure the devs have got a plan to tackle such further down the road map, but again being unsure if ROR2 is a sequel or a 3d remake of the original we'll just have to see how things pan out.

But naturally do feel free to discuss your thoughts on such below.

It certainly does seem to hint that he gave his life trying to defend other survivors at rallypoint delta.

But speaking of the other survivors for ROR1 any takes or thoughts that might of happened to them because currently out of the old cast only Mercenary, hunter ,commando and engineer seemed to be confirmed alive.

I like the concepts but uhh... hard to reach? (refering to the second bit of your idea) Like through a portal because https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1775353426 This is not uncommon Even on harder runs. Though I suspect there may be a bug with one of the items.
