Equipment Drone with Radar Scanner does nothing

Used my Radar Scanner for the equipment drone expecting this thing to be useful in some way, but the drone doesn't even use the thing, been waiting for minutes and nothing.

Equip drone hardly uses anything right, and worse yet when it dies it takes your item with it. Awful drone.

I've had equipment drones use radar and other equipment previously, but I think one of the updates broke them. They'll likely be fixed down the line and they'll be able to use radar again.

im gonna put it there but i put my radar on a equipment drone i had to get injured so then the drone used the radar.
i think its trying to heal wich is weird

I think equipment drones are only programmed to use their equipment when they are near an enemy.

You can actually give it a consumed tricorn as a nearby enemy alert.
