Extremely inconsistent launches, usually with the error of 'Failed to start Steamworks integration'

For starters, I'm running this game in a slightly unorthodox way - that being on MacOS, using Crossover (which is based on the wine translation layer)

The game itself runs fine when it launches, aside from a visual glitch of health bars not rendering, but launching usually will cause it to error out with the message of Failed to start Steamworks integration.
I've gotten it to successfully launch a few times, though I haven't found any consistent way to launch it.
From what I've seen online, some folks have been able to restart steam, or verify integrity to get it going properly, though I've had no luck with either option.

May I ask what steps I should take to further debug this?
I'm currently unaware of how to access any form of log files that might help here.

I seem to have the same problem but on Windows. What I had noticed is that the game opens propely after 3-4 bruteforced launch attempts the first time you open Steam after turning on the PC, after that it simply won't launch again and the error pops up. Restarting the PC and doing the bruteforce method works every time but it is very annoying to do whenever you want to play so let's hope there is an easier fix.
