Game stuck in modded version

I have had this game for a while, and before the full release I had modded my game to a version that allows a much larger multiplayer lobby (version 1.0.0.6 mod). upon release I wanted to play the game and a few friends, the problem is now my game is stuck in this modded version. I have uninstalled and reinstalled the game and all the mod files are gone, but the game is still stuck in the incorrect version. If anyone knows a fix please let me know.

If you use the Mod Manager, make sure that all installed boxes are unchecked.

Then browse your local Risk of Rain 2 files on Steam and permanently delete the entire folder's contents. This will inevitably result in needing to reinstall from scratch, and should not harm your profile progress as that is saved in the Steam cloud.

I had this same issue using R2Mod manager. I ended up choosing to go "clean" by first choosing the uninstall option in steam to remove the game, then I went to my c:\Users\username\AppData\Roaming\r2 folders and then reinstalling the game. This caused the game to come up fresh, and R2 to come up fresh (without re-installing R2), making it so I could add the mods back in fresh (pain, but easy), and now all seems just fine.

I was using "multitudes" with my buddy to make the game harder, and I noticed that when the R2API mod was enabled, even without multitudes, I was getting the 1.0.0.6 MOD version... and when R2API was disabled, it went away..... but doing the above and not re-installing Multitudes, worked for me... now we can play multi again without 'version mismatch' issues that "1.0.0.6 MOD" was causing.
