Then browse your local Risk of Rain 2 files on Steam and permanently delete the entire folder's contents. This will inevitably result in needing to reinstall from scratch, and should not harm your profile progress as that is saved in the Steam cloud.
I was using "multitudes" with my buddy to make the game harder, and I noticed that when the R2API mod was enabled, even without multitudes, I was getting the 1.0.0.6 MOD version... and when R2API was disabled, it went away..... but doing the above and not re-installing Multitudes, worked for me... now we can play multi again without 'version mismatch' issues that "1.0.0.6 MOD" was causing.
