Captain's Support Beacon Skill Glitches Out When Carrying Heresy Items During Mithrix Fight

As per title, I was doing a Captain run to unlock their new skill and had whittled Mithrix down to less than 100 hp. After I used the first button to bring up the beacon types window I had to sprint to avoid one of the ground-pound orbs he sends out. When I pulled up the ability again to call a supply beacon and left-clicked to drop it on Mithrix, Captain shot him instead, robbing me of my unlock by killing him with primary fire instead of the skill I'd told the game to use.

I tried using the ability again. Screen pops up, marker to show drop spot displays properly, but no button commands show in the window, which still closes if you sprint, but will not activate to drop anything even if you press the keys to do so. Additionally, while the window that normally displays the buttons to drop which beacon type is open, Captain can do everything else from his ability list as normal, just with no visual effects aside from that empty drop type window. The window will now only go away if you sprint, instead of like normally where any other ability you use closes it.

I don't know if the update messed up the skill or it's been like this for awhile, never had this happen before trying to get the new skill today.

After trying file validation, reinstallation and restarting my pc (not in that order) I did some testing and was able to repeat said issue two more times, I had eyes of heresy equipped to whittle Mithrix down more precisely via one orb at a time (instead of Captain's normal charging shotgun blast that does wildly differing amounts of damage depending how many pellets actually hit), and the issue still persists. One of these runs I was able to literally stand there and tank the orbs to target him, no sprint, no menu cancel, the ability pulled up normally then wouldn't fire.

After pausing the game and changing my keybinds to try and see if that was part of the issue, the ability read as having fired all it's shots despite not having fired any at all, and wouldn't activate to pull up the beacon types window anymore. I'm beginning to suspect that either the heresy item itself, or the coding keeping Mithrix from stealing "Heresy" type items is causing the issue.

*Final Update, Solved*

4th time's the charm, had no heresy Items at all, and took at least one of every colour category of items into the fight (Including Gesture of the Drowned, a blue), and the skill worked fine. Mithrix has been "smushed" normally/without incident.

TL:DR for lazy folk: Don't bring any of the heresy items into your fight with Mithrix if you want the new Captain skill. it will bug out.

I just had a similar thing, though with the Hooks of Heresy instead of the Eyes. It seems like the game is running into an issue where it tries to replace the supply drop with the Heresy ability instead. Funny enough, I actually broke it worse - In my case, I had multiple uses of Hooks due to Backup Magazines. When I tried to drop, it used my charges, and then locked like that - I could not use any abilities whatsoever and the M2 would not charge. It just stayed on the "Supply Drop" indicator, without actually letting me drop.
