Shields (like the shield generator) are considered as part of your health bar, i think
Barriers are not, as they're temporary and decay rapidly.
It would be helpful if they allowed the player to tick a box for an achievement to help debug it.
Once you tick the box, in play mode, you can see boolean values / flags / Information that tells the player when the achievement has failed and why. I can understand how some people feel the game can waste your life because you can spend hours on the game to complete achievements and you don't get credit for it - so you try again - and once you have unlocked most achievements and there are a few shady achievements left - the game becomes less appealing because you ask yourself "Should I spend 4 to 6 hours for something that is bugged? Is it bugged? I have no idea so...gonna play something else?"
