New survivors confirmed! (Accidentally)

So I am by NO means the first person to find this, but in case anyone is hanging out here in these discussions and haven't heard yet, it seems like Gearbox did a goof and left some files for Seekers of the Storm in the Devotion update.

In the audio sections of the files (StreamingAssets/Audio/GeneratedSoundbanks/Windows specifically) there are .bnk and text files for all of the characters added since the initial EA release, and with the Devotion update three new ones have been added. We've got files titled "char_chef" (He returns!), "char_seeker" (John Dlcman), and very weirdly, "char_falseson". False Son also has a pair of files titled "boss_falseson" so evidently he will still be a boss, but I guess he's also going to be playable in some form or another.

You can also open the text documents and sort of get an idea of what the new survivors will do, but I'm not actually very familiar with how to read these files so for the most part to me it's kinda just gibberish. Regardless, though, it does look like these files are probably legit.

Anyways it's a bit of a major oversight on Gearbox's part to leave these files in the Devotion update, but honestly I'm happy to get some news on Seekers of the Storm, even if it wasn't intentional.

If beating the false son unlocks him as a playable character, that sounds pretty dope, since we haven't had that type of thing in RoR2 before

i wont lie idk if its just me but i was kinda hoping the DLC would have all brand new characters "talking about chef for example not being new" and if they brought back any old ones id wish it would be all of them in there own possibly free update. i mean like come on we already got mods for the old survivors and starting to get mods for RoRR content as well so i was kinda hoping anything that came from the DLC was just new content not "old" content still excited for the DLC though.

This game will never be complete until they add Chef into the game. No mod can stand in for the knowledge that Chef, once and for all, is in Risk of Rain 2. That being said, ill believe it when I see it.
And while I understand for players who have used the mods it may feel a bit like being robbed, but for those of us who dont, its quite an exciting prospect to be able to play the old survivors. Though I agree that having a big "heres the old fellas" update would be cool, its an easy precedent to follow from the last DLC of having a returning reworked character and then new character. I wouldnt blame them for not breaking it

I converted the bnk files to take a listen to pretty much everything new. Hell, even some of the music got leaked, though 80% are corrupted files.
