You're right that the original developers, Hopoo Games, had no part in developing Seekers of the Storm. But that's because after releasing Survivors of the Void, they sold the game and the IP to Gearbox.
Gearbox were already responsible for the horrible console port. So the part where you're wrong is the "Xbox" part and the "outsourced code monkeys" part. It's just Gearbox screwing up another game/IP they bought from another developer.
damn they sold to gearbox? so the original devs are completely out of the game now? no more good expansions?
