I thought Online was UNPLAYABLE
My first Online experience was when RoR2 first released their "Seekers of the Storm" DLC. A total mess !

I may say that I played on a HDD disk drive, so it probably contributed to have constant FPS drops too...

Now, after changing to a M2 SSD and quite some Updates from the Devs, my second Online match, yesterday, was delightful !!!! :btd6thumbsup: Played with some randoms to "Survivors of the Void", loved it, and bought the DLC couple seconds ago :P

Your storage medium shouldn't have much (if any) impact on FPS unless the game is constantly loading assets from it. Most active assets would be loaded into RAM so that it can be accessed faster and without going to the storage drives. It was more likely a different hardware change or game updates; the initial SotS launch had a lot of issues that could've been the culprit.

Also, "HDD disk drive" means "hard disk drive disk drive".

yeah could've been SotS messing up with the base game...

hdd yap
Honestly, my HDD couldn't handle that well games that spawn many assets on the way. For example: 7 Days to Die, Arma 3... Couldn't maintain stable FPS, not even in the lowest settings possible. Probably they write stuff on the disk while I game

After the sudden change from disk to solid, I can play those games on Ultra, maintaining very very solid FPS (with some tweaks so I dont stress that much my gpu)
