That's just worse. So another team was working on this DLC. They probably witnessed the absolute dumpsterfire that SoTS was. It's safe to assume they're working under the same conditions SoTS devs were working with.
So we have another dev team being crunched and crushed under strict deadlines for another rushed DLC, we already have a whole ass trailer for it and it hasn't even been a year since the release of their last DLC that cost them a lot for having rushed it. Doesn't look good to me.
Another dev team working on another DLC also means gearbox had he audacity to rush out a DLC while the previous one was in need of fixing to repay the people who bought it day 1 and were waiting for the product they've already paid for to be delivered to them.
SoTS could've been fixed much earlier if they allocated all their resources on it but instead it took a whole 9 months because gearbox wants another cash grab rushed DLC to fill their pocket. Yikes.
Let's hope it turns out fine though.
-2 new survivors
-6 new stages
-7new drones
-7 new enemies
-New teleporter encounter + new final boss
-15 new items
SoTS was rough on launch-- very rough, and I'm hoping the team manages to get more QA done in time for Alloyed Collective's launch. There's likely a lot of overhead micromanagement pushing them to 'get this thing out ASAP' knowing Gearbox. All we can do is wait and hope.
That being said, I'm always happy to see more content for Risk of Rain 2, I was a day one purchaser and enjoyer of SoTS, and I will likely be a day one purchaser of Alloyed Collective. At the minimum, we'll (likely? hopefully?) have more banger tracks by Chris Christodoulou.
Considering we already have "replacements" for sniper and Han-D it's either enforcer or miner that's returning. Enforcer's gimmick wouldn't work well in a 3D environment so we're most likely getting miner back. Which is huge news for me at least... if they make a good DLC this time.
Edit: They could also include Risk Returns survivors so Pilot and Drifter are also possibilities and in that case I'd say the returning survivor would probably be the pilot.
