Should i get the DLC again thanks to the new update?
So i saw the new announcement of the updated elites and items and somehow got me a bit convinced on maybe getting the DLC again.
I of course refunded it as the content was... pretty bad and flawed; i didn't bothered to buy it again plus i even downgraded the game to have the original code thanks from the rumors going around.
Seeing the new update from the "fix-your-game" roadmap got me craving to utilize the updated items so i question, is the DLC worth it? :HFR_Worry:
Yes i'm aware of of both the false son and the survivors being flawed and lame until their updates come by. Regardless, im still a bit cynical on getting it.

the reworked items are so much better than what they were on release, risk of rain 2 has its sauce again

dlc still not worth it.. but its passable now (the new items are still junk sadly but atleast they arnt glorified scrap now)
it depends
the items are cool (hopefully theyll get some nerfs though), the skins were always sick, the stages are nice and you can get mods to put them in the main route instead of path of the colossus. if you think thats enough, go ahead
some stuff (the characters, boss fight, etc) are still iffy, this is only phase 1 of sots 2.0

Literally my only complaint left of the dlc is that Chef is underpowered and I hate his primary. Everything else is excellent imo

I will only complain about CHEF being useless, and the false son final boss being way too difficult at a normal basis. Other than that, the new items and elite types are more reasonable than before.
I have still mixed feelings whether I should recommend this dlc or not, but phase one is a good start in my opinion at least.
Either way, I highly encourage you to wait till phase 3 is released, we may never know how long it takes for the road map to be completed, and is the wait even worth it.

i was able to get to mithrix on eclipse 0 with void fiend without issue. he still got a lucky one shotter with his hammer on me, mind! but im terrible at void fiend and always feel terribly underpowered with him. after update i didnt feel that at all, the newly changed items really helped.... even the fin. (it works on a lot of bosses!)

fin helped a ton with damaging tougher foes, while the newly changed lantern made his normal primary far less painfully slow. the antlers were oddly enough one of my favorites, because normally i feel like he's slow as heck - just one antlers was enough to help me zoom across the map and not want to scream. new lucky growth nectar definitely added a notable amount of damage - cant say much for others since i didnt get them other than a single thorn that came right at the end of sky meadows so didnt get to play with it much.

all in all the new items no longer feel awful, and i actually cheer when i see them now because they really do help quite a lot. oh, and the new elites are thankfully killable now.

The DLC was already worth picking up for the items that were good enough to not be buffed (or even get nerfed), the new zones, False Son survivor, and the artifact of rebirth. That said, the item rework definitely makes the DLC even better.

They just need to rework the Chef and it's pretty much golden.
