The hell is this? Game won't start

Failed to start Steamworks integration.

i fixed this problem by verifying the integrity of the files. I still get the error every time I open the game so it's kind of annoying the verify the files every time. Hope it gets fixed soon

+1. Sometimes you can bypass it by just launching the game enough times that it eventually works, but yeah, it's *not* fun to deal with

Having the same problem as well.
Main menu loads up, but trying to start any game causes the screen to fade to black and then just reloads the main menu again.

found the fix... Completely restart steam.
Exit. Kill it in task manager if you have to. Restart your PC if it doesn't work.

yeah no, tried that already. same error again after full steam restart.
my guess is its a faulty steamworks integration, the recent update broke it and for some people it just doesn't work.
they can't address this issue because they're on holidays.

Here is the Startup Failure:

"Failed to start Steamworks intigration. Restarting the application usually fixes the issue. If problems persist, please report a bug."

The developers spelled "integration" incorrectly. The is no link to report the bug when this failure arises. Restarting the application on the Steamdeck while offline does not fix the issue. This game can't be played offline at the moment until this error is fixed. I'm disappointed.
