MUL-T Gotcha Achievement and the Imp Overlord
This is mostly a complaint post, and I won't pretend it isn't. I'm really not having fun trying to get this achievement. I want it really bad, since the saw is insanely cool both conceptually and statistically, but I just can't find overlords anywhere and I don't have time to do a ton of 30+ minute runs to try and find it. I get that the challenge is supposed to be difficult, but I don't think "kill this specific enemy in this specific way" challenges should be in a game like this where you have such limited control over what enemies spawn. (This also applies the Gesture of the Drowned unlock)

EDIT: I swear there's something going on with the Abyssal Depths RNG I've been there about 4 times in a row (after missing overlord on the previous stage) and every time the boss is a horde of many (which I ALMOST NEVER SEE in normal gameplay)

Imp Overlords only spawn on Rally Point Delta, Scorched Acres and Abyssal Depths. This means you'll only have 2 stages per loop to encounter one, if you really don't want to waste time I'd suggest using Command and the Bazaar's Lunar Seers to try and force it.

Do sub 10 minute runs. If you get rallypoint delta on stage 3, that's a guaranteed preon, and a chance at imp overlord. If you don't get imp, just quit. Don't farm items.

I wish the challenge was more interesting than that but sadly this game has a lot of lame ones.

This is the advice I've generally heard, but I find it easier to do command runs than try for rallypoint every time. I've also tried using dissonance but it's probably more reliable to dream for stages where they show up...

Dreaming is also a really good idea, yeah. I was just getting sick of never getting the right stages so I started rushing heavily. Most if not all of the bosses are easy to kill as mul-t if you power mode two nailguns if you're itemless. I think it took me like, 4 or 5 run rerolls under 10 mins each, so not even an hour.

Oh also suggest turning off the DLC too. That way stage 3 always has a chance and stage 4 is a 1/3 chance of getting the right map.

oh good idea turning off dlc. I think I'll go rebar nailgun power mode and stack a couple crowbars to try and just explode it when I find it

Lower his health, and use the accumulator right as he prepares to teleport, while aiming in front of you. Waiting for a recharge on a miss is not fun.

Eh, it could be worse. You could be trying out for the Captain's smushed challenge instead.

I'd rather be tbh, mithrix is a fixed spawn and pretty easy to line up the shot since he slows down at the end of the last phase
