Singleplayer won't load when offline

internet went out recently, and I decided to play risk of rain while it was down, but when I would load into the game every time I clicked on singleplayer the screen would go black then go back to the main menu. The game loads up without this issue now that the internet is back on. Any fix for this or is this intentional?

I noticed the same issue, and could not find anything about the matter online.

I know the thread is old, but if you didn't know by now, singleplayer in offline mode will work if you turn of the epic games / steam crossplay setting.

i didn't link to Epic and this game need internet ,

great I have EA-like games, no wonder why gamming is dead.

no you dont need internet, and this is more telling of people's ability to read more than just the op..... such as the marked answer, and post dates.
