If you happen to join someones Listening Server to play some RoR2 online it can happen that the modded values stay on your game as well.
Anyway, if you go to program files > steam > steamapps > common > Risk of Rain 2
delete the folder named "BepInEx".
If the issue still persists, verify your game cache through steam.
I deleted the game up to like 5 times by now.
I'd rather avoid having to keep deleting the game over and over because I joined the wrong multiplayer session.
I did not find any folder named like this.
I'm definetly getting an absurd amount of Gasoline stacks, Tri-Tip Daggers, Chronobaubles and Death Marks. I guess item drop values have been changed to make sure you eventually get a good Death Mark proc chain.
In-Game warnings are not occuring.
and the message "The ground starts bouldering" after looping has disappeared.
Are my indicators that I believe my game is not in a Vanilla state.
You can't just join a lobby then have someone hack your game, and even if they could, why would they boost the drop rate of random items instead of just.. stealing your data?
Probably just your luck
That message has literally nothing to do with looping
If you still genuinely believe your game has been "hacked" somehow, I recommend asking the RoR2 modding discord
https://discord.gg/HchKT9
You can launch either vanilla or modded versions of the game with it
Either must have been bugged or "hacked".
There's no Data to steal on this throw away PC ^^
The bouldering message doesn't exist in the RoR2 Wiki and my game used to do bouldering background noise upon launch, which disappeared with the latest hotfix.
Seems like verifying the cache rebooting the PC normalized item drop ratio as well.
Could also be that I was indeed extremely lucky to have a 5+ stack of gasoline in 3-4 consecutive runs in a row.
When a server has mods with new shrines, survivors, etc. then it could be buggy because graphics have to be shown that your PC don't know.
There're mods to change the build ID, like UnmoddedClient or RoR2DSE(meant for servers). If your build ID is different from the server or lobby of the player, then you'll get an error that it is different.
So to wrap things up. The server you were joining had a mod that changed the way items dropped and a mod that allowed unmodded clients to join.
Please say if you have any questions left.
Thanks for your reply. Makes sense, and that's more like what I thought of.
2 mods complimenting each other to be able to let randoms join your "way" of playing the game, which resulted in changing game behavior on my system.

No, I don't have any more questions.
