What is so HORRIBLY AWFUL about the dlc?
I've heard about a couple bugs and nothing else. What is SO TERRIBLY BAD that it justifies review bombing?
You all just wanna hate on gearbox for the fun of it or is there an actual reason?

the boss of the dlc was softlocked for me and my friends. after killing it, it says use shrine but the shrine isnt usable to progress. also lots of various bugs and issues that affect general play in a negative way

So it's exclusively a bad thing and should never be done.

Thanks, Gearbox.
I guess you could do it for something like smash bros if you really wanted to. Not even sure if it's programmed this way but people usually measure move phases in frames.

That's only available for one console where everyone has the same fps so you likely won't have issues there unless a lot of stuff happening slows the game down and introduces weird stuff.

Which inevitably happens in this game since more and more stuff will spawn the longer you play. It has no right to be this way in this game.

Mithrix invincibility bug ruined my The Calm run. That's a pretty big bug.

Genuinely what benefits are there to tying physics to frame rate by the way? I cannot understand how this would create nothing but issues or why you would want to do it.
There is none, its an outdated practice and always leads to issues. Was thing in 2011 games, dunno why they even thought to change the entirety of the codebase to do that.

This kind of problem has been around forever which just makes it all the more weird that they made such an obvious mistake. Super old PC games very infamously are unplayable on more modern machines without emulators, because everything was tied to processing power, so they run at what feels like the speed of light without forced limits.

I was obsessed with Mega Man as a kid and so my dad bought me EVERYTHING Mega Man related, and that included the infamously bad PC Mega Man games.... and even in the early 90's, this was a problem - our computer was too good to run the game properly! It ran, but at lightning fast speed, which made it unplayable.

I guess this problem has become so ancient that it's become new again! lol.

Another day, another person standing up for a massive company that don't care about them. Damage is hooked to your framerate now (which is completely unforgivable lol) and tons of bugs have been added since last patch on top of that. It deserves review bombing because the issues are unacceptable, especially when the indie company that ran this game had more competence than a AAA company like Gearbox. Maybe you should try to understand why the game is getting review bombed. Fans like myself that have been playing this game for literal years wouldn't just decide to change our review because they switch companies lol. Dumbass.

I am an independent game developer and it seems like they have created a lot of issues trying to merge all versions of the game for consistency. They seem to have forgone Delta Time for a lot of in game calculations (Delta Time is a method to make gameplay interactions consistent even with variable frame rate) which is very questionable.

I had 100ish hours in vanilla risk of rain 2 and 200 more since Survivors of the Void. Things don't feel right when I play the game right now. Also I use controller and they butchered my ability to view item descriptions. I basically can't read items in multiplayer at all anymore. Fantastic since I don't know what half the new items do yet.

If you haven't noticed any bugs it may be luck or one of the following:
I seemed to get more bugs in multiplayer than single player
Your computer/host's computer may be too strong generate any noticeable frame dips or odd behavior due to the FPS bugs.

I understand the sentiment about review bombings but I think it's justified on this DLC currently. For the record I have a good number of reviews (30ish off hand?) and I've only ever written like 5 negative ones.

There are many bugs that literally did not exist and that now completely break the game because the devs (apparently) mixed up the code from all platforms.

The bugs I have found are the following:

- Wrong edge lighting of objects.

- 3D printers without lighting.

- The music is always loud and the settings are not saved if you enter the game

- You can literally come to life if you play in multiplayer for no reason

- the hitbox of some enemy attacks are very out of what they should be

- the interaction of aspects with a particular item that determines the damage can cause the game to break completely

- You can start the stage and cross the floor and/or appear.

and it could continue with bugs and problems. The issue is that the DLC is "meh", it has potential, a lot, but they have broken what worked and it is not fun to play in such a disastrous state
I just joined a multiplayer game and all of the SFX are wibbly, even when we portal to the next stage. It's weird. I didn't get this issue with the patch on single player.

I don't get what everyone is so up in arms about. I personally like 2 of the 3 new characters, I think the new maps have neat designs, the items are hit and miss but id say overall pretty good, and i personally haven't noticed any bugs on the pc version unlike my xbox version.

Gearbox spent the last year unifying the code base, and instead of making the console versions similar to the pc version, they did it the other way around, introducing MASS amounts of game breaking bugs, making the whole game fps based, making the game harder the higher your fps, and on top of that pretty mediocre content. 90% of the bugs are primarily due to the code base change. The game was priced at nearly twice in many regions, the game will not even launch on xbox, and again, because of the code base change being the wrong way around, the entire modding community was basically put down like a dog. and most of this is basically irrepairable because they would have to undo the code base change pretty much.

its not review bombing though, it is the vast majority of the ror2 community unhappy with gearbox's horrible handle of this extremely rushed update that so many of us were skeptical about for so long

This. This isn’t a review bomb. While the definition may be somewhat up for interpretation, a review bomb is generally a “bomb” of reviews with the intention of raising awareness for some cultural/social impact or some global decision that the company behind the game made. This, on the other hand, isn’t any form of mass persuasion with the intent of harming sales for no plausible reason. It’s simply a low quality product charged at a relatively high price and it is getting the reception such a product would get in any situation.

My major problem with the DLC is summerized by this
"Thats a neat/great idea, why does it have a downside?"

lantern's low hp buff is INSTANTLY removed the second you go above 50% hp (please if it must stay that way bump the hp threashold to 75% hp and under)

Prayer beads requires you to scrap them to get any benefit (and outside of bonus hp no clue what else it does because description is cryptic as hell)

Antler shield is 55% chance to reflect 10% damage (just remove the chance it can only hit what ever shot you in the first place and make it 20% because dealing 5 damage to a wisp is not winning any runs)

Knockback fin funny item but.... outside of Relic of frailty what is the point of forcing fall damage? *after like mad stacking the hell out of it because initial height is SO low it's ultra easy to mistake it for the enemies out right jumping and not your item*

Toxic thorn (honestly cool idea but) why on earth is it a 25% chance ON taking damage?

tons of people are saying seeker and chef are bad but real talk once you play them a bit you find seeker can hard core exploit blood shrines and chef can use roller and cleaver at the same time to shread enemies in seconds

The worst part about antler shield is that it's a worse razor wire on all fronts
It's like gasoline and will o the wisp if gas only had a 10 percent chance to proc
