Warped Echo
What's the point? I still take the full damage, it just bypasses one shot protection now. What a weird item.

It exists just so the game can bug out and softlock you. No thought was put into this item at all

If you have healing, you might survive multiple attacks that would killed you since you're taking half damage and bleeding out over time giving you some time to something. I do agree that it's a weird item to have as a white tier item, it should be tweaked and maybe brought over to lunar tier or something. It's current implementation doesn't make alot of sense

I usually like to take Plates and healing just in case, the Echo is a fantastic item to heal back while it's going to proc the second half.

Though if you disregard defense layers then yeah it's not really doing anything, but hey at least you didn't get a Knockback Fin that likes to deny your Captain air strike setup

You get to heal back some of the damage, the delayed damage can trigger Tougher Times too (which means you have double the chance of ignoring the damage), so it does have some really clutch potential

It's basically an item that serves to double the procs of any item that activates on you getting hit. I find it synergizes really well with roll of pennies. You get double the cash for the same damage exchange since you get two instances of damage. Get a few of both items and it becomes way more efficient to take damage for money instead of killing enemies in early game, especially if you're playing someone like Void Fiend who can heal back afterward.

Although it's useful for other things too, like medkit since it activates before the 2nd half of warped echo activates. But it can also double the healing from other items like the Planula as well since you'd take damage twice.

I am out of steam points or I would award you for this response. I had not thought of those synergies.

Interactions don't stop there. Warped Echo used in synergy with the Medkit will allow you to safely use shrines of blood more than once without the risk of using a Power Elixir or breaking a Delicate Watch, given that the Medkit heals you enough. Also, the second half of damage can trigger Tougher Times, creating the chance of it halving the damage if it failed to block it.

Frankly using Warped Echo is a hazard considering it's so buggy right now.

It's actually a fairly useful item in a number of ways.

- It reduces the damage of the attack by half, potentially taking it out of kill range, as you can heal before the second half of the hit applies.
- Any "on being hit" abilities that you have trigger twice.
- Any "flat damage reduction" effects apply twice, effectively doubling their power.

That said, I don't like the way it stacks. I feel it should continue to split the damage more and more, and it should probably be a green item rather than a white.
