get some lysate cells and go look for them using artificer

There cave on the right after you descend from stairs in the second dlc area. You need bison steak, injection and cautious slug to active the altar(items will be removed from you) and you get chef.

Stage 2 of the green portal path, and you don't have to bring all item at once. They will be saved between run.
