FYI for Unlocking New Character / Alternate Final Boss

Just wanted to let people know some things when heading into the new Green Portals for the new characters and alternate final boss.

I have some discoveries that I haven't seen posted on reddit/here yet that I think can prove useful to people heading into the DLC.

1. Halcyon shrines most commonly spawn on the very first map. Very rarely on other maps, at least in my 7 hours of DLC runs thus far.

2. Once you enter a green portal, you MUST stay in it. Leaving via the teleporter will prevent any new green portals from spawning. Keep following the green portals.
2a. Even if you leave the green portal via the regular teleporter and find a gold shrine to fight Big Gold Guy, he will not spawn a green portal.

3. You CAN charge the teleporter, get your boss drops, and then head into the green portal afterwards. It will not disappear even if you clear the teleporter event.

4. If you aim to complete the route to get to the Alt Final Boss, I advise you to stack up on movement items and jumping items. It will help you to get through the map. (My first 2 attempts died due to lacking movement abilities. And another died because I kept falling off the map as MUL-T trying to use his charge ability lol)

To extend off number 2. Newt portals are safe to take if you find one in the green portal, stage chain. Not too sure on Void Fields though.

If you do the shrine on the first stage but dont take the portal do the shrines still spawn in other stages?

You can use newt to force your way into the green portal route maps. The new maps and gilded coast can appear as visions for the next stage. If you manage to force your way into Gilded coast or any of the new maps while going into stage 2 or 3 it allows you to enter the new final stage.
