Had a great run going as False Son, just going for a quick obliterate for the skin, went to slam a celestine and flat died as the blue bubble appeared......pissed me off.

YUP, it's genuinely awful. It might not even be your fault, atg or ceremonial knives can mess you up too. Or gas / wisp and oops you're dead now.

There's a mod that does this. They probably created this elite type to force people to learn about modding, which makes the game drastically better.

looooooool a friend and myself were looking at thunderstore last night and saw the mod, we didn't wanna mod the dlc so soon but I think I'm going to if not just for twisted elites.

I'm also generally against mods that make the game easier, but I make an exception in this case because these elites literally unavoidably kill you from nowhere with zero possible counterplay, which essentially ruins the game. It's like tripping from Super Smash Bros Brawl, but it instantly kills you.

Thankfully, removing them from existence doesn't hamper the game's difficulty in any significant way, it just becomes properly playable again. Eclipse is still a very significant challenge, and if you find Simulacrum too easy I have a mod on the store for that.

I think the craziest part is you can easily balance that out by having them HEAL whatever is in their area instead of giving everything thorns aura and they would be 100 times better as an enemy. Annoying, sure, but you don't need to be afraid to target them out of fear of instantly ending your run.

Ay gearbox, I do balance better than your boys. Sign me up.
