Safe to return to the game?

Played base ROR2 a while back. Heard once Gearbox took over they released a new dlc and screwed up the base game in the processes by introducing bugs and breaking the physics. Has that all been cleaned up yet?

the biggest issues have been fixed, however there are still issues, most notable being that past stage 3 there are TWICE as many elites than intended

if you want, you can get mods to fix some of the bigger issues, or just downpatch

Personally i have had zero issues since i bought the game years ago. They have done major patching since both dlc's released tho.

Wont know till ya try it out for yourself.

untrue. well known fact things still are not even close to fixed. still in orignal ror2 where you can run into a stage or two unmodded with no enemies or boss at exit which people say isnt game breaking when it is when you spend all that time get no gold to upgrade or spend and no exp . kinda dumb . also since newer sots came out dlc many things are stil lbroken in base game as well as in the dlc . to many to call it safe to return

Major patching? They put out one emergency patch a week after release than another very small fix after that and then nothing for like 2 months. Almost all of the DLC items are still borderline worthless and just poison the loot pool making runs much harder.

Mine as well, with years of progression.

I don't know why i should support these toxic practises any longer.

Been an issue for a long time sadly, the way the game handles saves is really questionable and it's pretty prone to erasing data.

There are mods on Thunderstore you can use to restore lost progression but they're functionally cheats.

it is THAT bad like 13 items that are glorified scrap most arnt even working properly a boss thats a glorified DPS check otherwise you cant win at all and 3 charathers that are meh in all area's

I refunded the seekers DLC. I saw a poorly animated pseudo-thresher and some golden enemies and it was like randy took a big Borderlands looking ♥♥♥♥ all over my game.

game is still very fun, most of the big problems introduced with the newest dlc have been fixed but some balance problems and minor things from it still need to be addressed, while ofc issues that existed before are still around.

you can use mods to improve the experience even further to fix the issues that haven't been fixed by gearbox yet.

2 of the 3 new survivors from the newest dlc are pretty broken strong, what you'd expect from dlc survivors pretty much though the 3rd is the worst survivor in the game.
false son > voidling, new maps > void dlc maps, i find the new survivors more fun than void dlc survivors. there are problems with the new items even with the bug fixes (on dlc launch one combination of items made mithrix invincible).

i'd say try it out, i'm still having a lot of fun with the game playing with a friend, we are using mods to change a lot of things but i'm still often playing as seeker now who is prob tied for my favorite survivor with acrid.
