I spawned as a monster(Larva)... No Mods..

To be clear, neither of us have installed any mods at all. Just base game with the expansion. Was playing earlier in Coop. My son was hosting the game, On the character select screen, I selected the engineer then hit the ready button... My character model disappeared for both myself and my son. So we're both looking at the character select screen waiting for the game to start but only my sons character is visible. When the game starts, my son spawns in like normal in the pod.. But when the game started for me I was looking at a Larva... Much to my surprise I had full control of the Larva. I had the Larva's attacks, I was able to sprint. And I was able to get items. But I had very little health and didnt last long at all.

We were both confused as to what happened and started looking for a game mode or something that allowed for you to play as monsters.. but it doesnt appear that is a feature that is available in the game without mods.. Am I missing something? Is this a feature of the game we werent aware of? Seems like it would/could be a lot of fun. For whatever reason I immediately assumed it was going to be a game mode similar to Crawl if you've ever played that game... One play spawns as monsters, the other play spawns as the hero fighting through a dungeon. Anyways, has this happened to anyone else?

There are other posts and videos that show other players able to do this too, so it is a thing, regardless of how or why it happens exactly.

its a relic bug has a very small chance from what iv heard it has a chance to happen when using the spawn random survior relic.
