Wisps' Auto-Target
Am I the only one that really hates this? It makes the Artifact of Glass an absolute frustration to play with. You can't dodge them, and Tougher Times is only so much help.

I might mean hit-scan? Their attack feel nearly impossible to dodge, at least early on.

you def arent the only one, i despise wisps for that reason. if you could dodge their attacks at least by sprinting it'd be bearable, but nope, they just wont miss unless you have an ability to dodge

Wisps struggle to turn, just like any other enemy. Being closer to them lets you dodge them at a sprinting pace.
They also have the HP of a potato, and most characters have at least one tool in their kit to kill them enmasse. So just kill them before they become a problem.

Frankly, wisps are my favorite enemy. They're pretty much the only enemy outside of clay templars and maybe a boss or two that don't fall into the category of 'sprint and bunny hop to avoid all damage'.

I suppose when 10 spawn at once it's just a matter of killing them all before one can get the jump on ya.

I mean razorwire and repulsion shields are both hard counters to wisps attacks. Other than that, I suggest trying to target them as soon as they spawn
Bristling_Feces Apr 20, 2021 @ 2:50pm
I'm not saying they're too hard. Just agitating. I think my biggest problem is that it makes the Challenge of Glass a little TOO hard.

True, but enemies are mostly there to be annoying and make the game harder, in this case I don't really think that the difficulty is artificial or complete BS since in most cases wisps are easy to deal with, (not on merc, or if you have swarms)

Fair argument.

Wisp are only a concern in the first three stages. That is only when I prioritize them because they are "dangerous" if unchecked. By stage 4, you should have some way to deal with them and forget like razorwire, ukulele, gasoline, or the wil 'o wisp, fireworks, etc.
As far as glass goes, don't take it if it is hurting your runs. I don't.

That's why they do small chip damage, but I can see it being a problem with Artifact of Glass.
Devs have pretty much said off the bat that Artifacts aren't made to be balanced, though.

While playing with Artifact of Glass, 2 armour repulsion plates early one pretty much guarantees your safety vs wisps and any other enemies with chip damage. So while it may feel like cheating, using the Artifact of Command with an artifact that makes the game harder seems like fair play to me. Also fireworks and squids are incredible with Glass.
