Huntress Feels Underwhelming
Is it just me? I hate playing this character.

She feels a bit similar to Acrid in that she has a certain role she's designed to fill, and in her case it seems to be "track enemies at all times." It really stuns me that the development team says that she is "high damage output" when I regularly find myself struggling to damage enemies even with a good set of items.

This has been the case with her for every run so far. Ironically, one thing that DOES seem to help her a lot are the Soldier Syringes. If I'm being completely honest, her base firing speed should be raised to equal at least one of these syringes to make her feel like a balanced character.

I don't know who out there has a strong opinion of her, but if there is- what do you like about her? How can you stand her lousy damage output compared to the rest of the group?

She is prob my best character. She has a lot of movement in the early game with alt shift.

Her single target damage is the only weakness she has, and even that isn't that bad if you find a good amount of crit with her second M1 and use her second special. The 3-dash shift makes her the safest character in the game while in combat and the glaive is really good for damaging groups of enemies.

One of the best characters imo, only loader captain and mul-T are better.

The thing that kills huntress for me is the auto lock on. Why can't you just free aim?
Makes it very difficult to target what i want and on top of that the range is very short.

I was more expecting a melee character or commando hater

The way I see it, Huntress is sustained damage output than high damage output. In no way is Huntress even close to "high" damage output when compared to the likes of Bandit, Mul-T, Cap, and even Commando with the buff to his primary

Huntress is not meant for single target fights. She has a really really high damage output to large groups of enemies because of her glaive and its mechanics. She's not amazing when fighting one enemy, or even a small group of enemies.

Not so much a hater.

I just dislike the feel of her kit overall; she feels so different from every other Survivor.

It doesn't feel like she has much of a specialty.

I'm terrible with her. I actually like how she feels to play, her mobility skills are very satisfying. Locking onto targets is mixed for me. On the one hand, it makes her the best wisp killer, and my hatred for those little ♥♥♥♥♥ is mighty. On the other, it can be frustrating when it doesn't lock onto the target you actually want, or doesn't let you hit things that are far away.

I do get what you mean with her damage. It feels underwhelming in the early game, though I normally play rex, who has very high dps early, so that may color my opinion of what good early damage feels like.

Her main specialty is supposed to be quick nonstop movement, but every character can pretty much do quick nonstop movement except rapid fire characters like MUL-T or Commando. You only have to stop for a millisecond when you use an attack, so if the attack is a one off (like Engineers' Shields, Turrets, or Mines) or a charge attack (like Engineers' grenades), then you only really have to 'stop' sprinting for a millisecond which might as well mean 'not stop sprinting at all'. To this day, I argue that Engineer is the fastest stage clearer in the game besides Loader because the guy just never stops sprinting. Enemies spawned? Dgaf, just drop a turret and keep sprinting. Your Commando rolls will not save you when you have to go in the wrong direction half the time.

Arty is in the same boat. All of her attacks are one offs or charges. Loader too, plus she's got the grapple. Bandit has to stop for a burst- but otherwise he's free to run around nonstop. I could say something akin for pretty much every character aside from Commando, MUL-T, and maybe Captain maybe.
The result is that Huntress doesn't have much of anything special to her at all. In the past I've proposed changes like a cooldown to sprinting after using a skill, or ditching sprinting while charging attacks, but enh.

She's not a bad character, just kind of lacking in unique gimmicks.
Aside from how much degeneracy revolves around her figure, but lets not go there

You aren't the only one, Huntress is my least favorite survivor to play, i just find her kit/playstyle very boring and one note personally
