KBM or controller
New to this game, which one is more recommended to play with?

I use KBM. You want to be able to flick around to enemies that spawn or sneak up behind you or be able to make a tactical retreat in the opposite direction quickly.

I have had friends who have played with controller, and I have tried both, and wow was controller so much more difficult. kbm 100% unless you work on a computer all day and need to give your wrists a break or something

Just to throw a different argument out there; as someone who almost exclusively uses controller (my wrists be pretty ♥♥♥♥♥♥) I find it very comfortable. You definitely lose some twitch reaction time but most of the time it isn't super necessary. It's been a while but iirc only one character (artificer) was uncomfortable with controller, due to the hover mechanic. Other than that, controller works well imo.

Pretty much, I think you can't really go wrong, but game was almost definitely designed for kbm first.

I struggle with aiming quickly with a mouse, but I can do it with controller very well. That said, I'm more into this game's modding scene than vanilla, and a few of those require keyboard to use, which would force me to either give up movement or aiming. So I got used to KBM.
KBM is also just, as everyone said, better for this kind of game.

I play with controller in front of my TV, it's fine for certain characters.

This game supports simultaneous use of keyboard, mouse, gamepad and even direct input joysticks!
You could use a gamepad in your left and a mouse in your right hand.
I usually play with a keypad with thumb stick (azeron cyborg) and a mouse (Swiftpoint Z2). But there's also cheaper alternatives from razer and other companies.
Imho this is the way to go, as you have the best of both worlds in terms of gaming controls (360 analog movement plus mouse snap aiming)

Holding a controller with only one hand, while using your thumb on a joystick, is uncomfortable at best. Setting the controller in your lap or on the desk for stability makes gripping it uncomfortable at best. Source: have tried several times to make it work

That's why I recommend analog keypads or nunchuk style controllers for the left hand, but you could also use a wrist rest or sth to rest the pad on to make it more comfortable. Worked for me in the past

I'm also looking forward for this thing to release btw:

Honestly, I can do both.

On PC I use Keyboard and Mouse and it provides better control over aiming and movement alike.

On consoles I use controller and it is much nicer to play. Feels good to be able to play something like RoR2 from the couch.

Mouse and Keyboard is probably better if you wanna take things serious.
