Reverting achievements?
I was messing around in a quick play game and accidentally ended up getting the 100% calculated achievement for engineer after ascending to the higher realm by stage 4 because of broken glitches. Does anybody know if there's a way to edit my profile and revert the achievement, so I can get it legit?

There is no such thing, i know this because i've personally contacted Steam Support a while back for a similar reason for Team Fortress 2 achievements and was told that they have no way of taking away achievements of mine.

Best you can hope for, as is the case in the aforementioned Team Fortress 2, is that you can reset achievements in the game itself.

That's what I'm looking for right now. I know that I can't get rid of the steam achivements, but I want to get the in-game unlock revoked so I can unlock it legit

Actually you can revert steam achivments with Steam Achivement Manager.

BUT if you need that in game, there is should be the way to remove achivement tags from profile saves. This hides in the same file as player Lunar coin count and probably most players change not only their amount, but also turn all achivements to be done.

Yup, I too have tried in the past to get achievements reverted, but, at least for the time being, no such 'legit' method exists. I know some people use external programs, but I can't bring myself to. Best I can suggest is just trying to complete the challenge for your own satisfaction even if its already unlocked.

Yeah i'm pretty sure the so called SAM is most definitely not legit and could get you banned, not to mention in the case that probably 95% of people that do use it use it to get achievements, not get rid of them, which defeats the entire purpose of achievements in the first place as you didn't achieve jack.

Why not just make a new profile in game (click top right on main menu iirc) if the issue is you want to do it legit, unlock it on there then go back to your main profile, while you technically didn't unlock it legit on your main you have unlocked it legit before, although that might be a bit time consuming (might be hard without item unlocks and you need to play 30 stages to unlock in the first place), or if you are anything like me and something bothers you that much just make a new profile and start from scratch if you aren't that many hrs in which it seems you are looking at your profile

you could also just wait until you have all the achievements then make that new profile as the last thing you do (since I assume you want to use your main profile to hunt all the achievements eventually) and just unlock it in game on that new profile legit when you have the time/feel like playing engineer and when you don't feel like playing engi and other chars if you still play this game after 100%ing it then switch to your main, or you could do what I have just said and make it before 100% and just jump on the new profile when you want to play engi instead of playing engi on your main and play everything else on your main

Even if he did use SAM to remove it I assume the in game flag on his profile would say already gotten and wouldn't unlock again on that same profile without messing with some files, could be easy if its just a log file or hard if not, would most likely have to make a new profile in that case to unlock it on for it to re-pop

I used once SAM to get some unobtainable achivements in TF2 (due gamemode being not popular and dead even in server browser) and anyone has the choice to use it or not.

Btw, there is a guide how to get all achivements and logs. You just need to reverse this thing with all the stuff you need to tanos snap: https://www.yekbot.com/risk-of-rain-2-cheats/
The author of this thread has indicated that this post answers the original topic.

Tried this out, turns out it removes the achievement but not the character unlocks. Still, as long as I know when I get the achievement, should be all good. Cheers!
