My character changed after entering "Artifact boss zone"

Uhm... I've been playing huntress and after going into the "Artifact boss zone" - my char changed to Artificer... I still had all my items etc and after clearing the boss it didn't change back to huntress. IS that normal or a bug? I've unlocked 3 artifacts so far and that didn't happen to me before..

Since the artifact you are unlocking is active, I assume it was the "switch character per stage" artifact. However the next stage it isn't active anymore so you are stuck with your new selection

Upon entering the Trial for Metamorphosis -Artifact in Bulwark's Ambry, each player will be given a random survivor and will be stuck as this survivor for the rest of the game (unless entering this Trial again).

Oh.. lol. I didn't know such artifacts exists.. Well that was the issue, thanks mate!

artifact of metamorphosis, changes your character each stage, since you didn't have it before and it wasn't active you would only change characters on that stage of that run.
