What are the strengths and weaknesses of MUL-T in your opinion?
New to the game and learning but loving it.

hes op if you go full *chance to* items(and pick akimbo skill), but you wont have long range attacks

Great character, melts bosses but not as effective against crowds like other characters. Funny enough MUL-T is very fast with only a couple movements items (2 energy drinks). Stacking on hit items and crit is very good. If you find a leach seed use it. Best item for MUL-T.

Its strenght is that it's a somewhat versatile and adaptable character with its different skill alts, you can make it fit your playstyle. It lacks a bit of crowd control, but if you need a heavy hiter that can snipe from afar, you can take power mode and 2 Rebar Puncher with guaranteed band proc, works wonder with Crowbar. With ATG Missiles, anything that survived a hit can then take a missile for 300% damage of your Rebar Punch and that hurts (but you loose a bit of control on your bands). You can have it shred anything close range with Power Mode and 2 Auto-Nailgun, with proc items you can say goodbye to any HP sponge. That's a bit more risky since you have short range, but power mode will give you some armor to compensate.

Or, you can play retool, you'll be less specialized but you still hit quite hard, and you have access to two equipments so you can compensate with that.

For the weaknesses, I've already mentioned the lack of crowd control. It becomes RNG dependant if you specialize it, if you can't find the right items you might not have a lot of fun playing. And for me, idk if others had this issue, as it's a bigger character, but with the same base speed stat, it feels slower at start.

Balls: Oh I haven't done *chance to* just yet. Not sure if it's worth losing out on my long range though. Interesting!

Talos: Yes, he's the third character I've played so far and while I've unlocked a few others since gaining access to MUL-T I haven't tried them because I've really liked his mobility and the speed potential I've come across so far. I have not used leach seed though I believe I've come across it.

Matonadia: Retool sounds much more up my alley but it's great to hear and explore the different options. The crowding can get pretty obnoxious. Who I play most with likes to double to monsters at half health on monsoon and it can be overwhelming at times, but fun. I have noticed base speed is frustratingly slow initially, but by level 15 it can almost feel too fast haha. Think I'll lay off the caffeine just a little

Can have executive card alongside another equipment item that's pretty awesome imo

Loc Lac: I've never equipped executive card. Though I always struggle to decide on an equipment x2. I'll definitely give it a try next go around

It's hard to say since MUL-T is the most variable survivor in the game. I guess they can have problems against flying enemies if you don't have a nail gun or rebar launcher in your loadout, and power mode makes you slow.

MUL-T also gets a fun accuracy bug in power mode if you take a saw or rebar launcher in your primary slot, and a nail gun in your secondary slot. There is also double rebar with retool that exploits the weapon swap to fire your weapon faster then intended. Double rebar was nerfed in a way that you have to manually tap retool if you don't have any attack speed.

Executive Card is an instant run winner. You retain some gold used in purchases and multi-shops will not shut out the other two items when you purchase one of items. Helps runs go a little faster and the amount of items you end up with really snowballs strongly.

Mul-T can have absolutely insane survivability even at the point where most survivors would be getting one shot when he is in power mode. his specific strengths depend on the weapons hes using. for example, rebar launcher gives him huge burst damage at any range with crowbars and kjaros/runalds bands, nailgun gives him incredible "on hit" potential with bleed and ATGs as well as healing (Also it was mentioned that leeching seed is his best item, this is only really true of buzzsaw and nail gun, and that is only the case if you dont have a lot of crit chance. As at higher crit chance (you only need 20%, or 2 lensmakers glasses), harvesters scythe will heal for more and scale better). When not in power mode he is still really versatile with being able to take a utility equipment like executive card and a damaging equipment too.
in terms of weaknesses, he has wonky movement compared to other characters, he litteraly moves different because he is on wheels so vertical mobility is even more important on him than other characters as you wont have that goofy restriction when you are in the air. He also has lower base damage than the other survivors so items and equipment that deal base damage percentage are weaker unless you can apply them relentlessly (like bleed with nailguns)

To add to this: retool and double rebar is pretty strong. Retool completely bypasses the Rebar's slow attack speed, allowing you to spam to your heart's content. Boosting attack speed lets you hold the fire button rather than tapping.

yeah this is a really nice trick especially early on, but you will always be limited to the minimum cooldown of .5 seconds of retool, so eventually attack speed buffs will outscale the retool trick. it does mean you can focus less on attack speed though
