I'll try to list some.
The rest of them are mostly must takes, unless there's a specific interaction you want to keep like Engineer with Fungi or Fuel Cell with your active item build.
Lute = yes on short runs, no on long runs
Tentabauble = yes on short runs, no for long runs
Fungus = no on engi, yes on everyone else
Flame = yes, if you can handle the fps and are not using gesture+forgive me
Larva = yes for short runs, no for long runs
Void bands = soft no, but hard yes if regular bands cause you too much fps.
Cell = depends on character / skill / build.
Bethnic = hard no
Key = soft no
Lenses = no
Needle = hard no
Bear = no, but ok if you're using gesture+bell spam
Zoea = yes. I mean, its a hard no, but why would you not take something so rare?
For all of these no's its either a downgrade or its worth more to scrap/printer/cauldron the non-void item instead. I generally don't waste time looking for void items after I've found bungus + band or shrimp. Everything else for me is too laggy or not worth the time.
I guess i need to memorize what items do since i still barely have any clue what i'm picking up.
If you take regular key greens mostly suck
Its good for those targets to get the initial stack, but you want regular keys after because white scrap is always high demand.
Lute = disagree, it's always yes
Tentabauble = disagree, it's always yes
Fungus = agree
Flame = agree
Larva = agree
Void bands = disagree, hard no.
Cell = agree
Bethnic = disagree, it's funny
Key = disagree, soft yes
Lenses = agree
Needle = agree
Bear = disagree, always yes
Zoea = disagree, it's so bad
I isualy like to think there are two main archetypes of build:
-
multi strikes from polyluth, fungus voidus running around with high amogus moove speed to heal like a fast boi (+ leechs and scythe ofc always good items to leech hp)
(edit: since high eclipses modifiers HARD nerf life regend in general, this one is obv inferior to shield build, in Eclipse only)
-
meaning taking blue scarab transcendence, mixed with plasma shrimp (gives shield + when shielded, u fire shrimps missiles on target) meaning litteral infinite shrimp dps on targets
there are ofcs lots of fun and casuel options with voids, but those two are my to main to realy "tryhard" hard modes / eclipses
1 encrusted key is better than 0 rusted keys
Once the stack of encrusted keys is empty, you can get rusted keys again.
Edit: Also, needletick becomes a hard yes once you have shatterspleen. Since tri-tip and shatterspleen can't both add a bleed stack on the same hit.
-cell realy depends on ur build or character, but can realy be hop as f
-needles, I dont know the exact math about them, but apparently, they worth only if u have few of them (3 or less or something), since regular needles are way more useful when highli stacked
-void band + tentaboule comobo : ngl I realy enjoy those two combines together xD
they can litteraly stun lock mithrix in any Eclipses difficulty if u spam them enough and are the right time, they sure dont have the same clear damage as the two normal ice and fire bands, but damn void band + tentaboule on mithrix is straight bullying
Lenses; only depends if u feel like having a lot lot looooot of attack speed, for instance,
on commando, only 10 regular glasses are needed to full crit, but if u wanna go for lenses one tap everything, u gotta stack them realy hard, or having 57 leaf clover, which totaly securized the combo
speaking of clover,
-bethnic: its litteraly like "ok, do I want to throw litt the best red item in the game to a goofy ass similar lunar item that litt changes my build every room"
it can litt ruin ur runs, boost them hard, I never take it in tryhard runs xD its too risky
but def fun for chill classic moonsoon runs
