With sacrifice, you don't linger in a stage for money, you rush straight for the Tele.
I did rush to the tele, still managed to pathetically only get one item
It is likely that if you move towards the teleporter as fast as possible that you might not get more than the teleporter drop for the first level. But it is still likely that you will start getting drops soon enough after.
For people that start their first loop as fast as possible, the sacrifice artifact probably gets them more items then they would get normally because they don't pick anything up. They live off of teleporter drops for the first three or four levels.
There's very well a reason to rush. Especially early on, runs fail due to the difficulty rising faster than you can acquire items. Unless you get lucky with drops (or command) you will have a bad time of you waste to much time.
