What's the current character tier-list look like?
Just curious if there's any relatively agreed upon ranking for all the characters in terms of effectiveness.

I have not played much of RoR2, but I've heard some characters are just not that great, whilst some are god/S tier, and some are not god/S tier, but are unique in their ability to reliably beat the game with their abilities alone. Not sure how true any of that is, hence why I'm asking.

For your convenience, the characters are:

Commando
Huntress
MUL-T
Engineer
Artificer
Mercenary
Rex
Loader
Acrid
Captain
Bandit
Railgunner
Void Fiend
Heretic

don't feel like really doing a full tierlist but Mul-T, REX, Heretic, and Captain are just below Railgunner, Void Fiend, and Loader. Acrid and Artificer are probably the worst survivors, but still fairly strong.

i honestly think it comes down to whos playing X characters cause RoR2 is just one of those types of games were aton of people could say X character is bad but people are like god like with this supposed trash character tier lists in a game like this are practically personal preference.

the tier list is

S: skill
D: skill issue

All survivors are S tier by stage 7 or 8, except for the ONE TYPE of engi player that hasent gotten 20+ shrooms and a hardlight by the end of stage 3....hes been dead within the first 30-40 seconds in every stage since 4....MAYBE survived 5.

Even a run with a skilled player on a so called S Tier can flop.

Also Arti is the exception and dosent belong on any list, they are too busy kissing the skybox to do much of anything.

Whatever the list, loader is at the top and artificer at the bottom.
Phase round commando might be close to the bottom though.

Loader does incredible amounts of burst damage while being able to cross the entire map in seconds in a game where time is everything. Void Fiend is able to pretty reliably switch from one of the safest and consistent survivors into a boss-nuking machine and back again whenever you need. Not my cup of tea but Railgunner is also pretty nuts. I tunnel vision too hard when I play her though.

Phase Round activates bands on the second hit, allows you to stay at a distance and still do ok damage, does great damage when you line monsters up, and it goes through walls. Ever since I chose it rather than Phase Blast I've had successful Monsoon runs back to back. Emptying your backup mags into a conga line of enemies is too satisfying and I will never choose blast again. I also choose nades, they help with Gups.

Phase rounds before that change WAS the bottom tier of trash only beaten by arti.

Post change however I use both round and burst, along with supression or nades depending who im playing with (i only play solo or with friends) and what they are, and sometimes what mods im rolling.......if we have scepter in the list its instant nades and I get the first if our engi main isnt there lol
