Skin mods in multiplayer

Ok so I want to download a mod to get a skin for bandit, but the people i play with dont want to deal with it. is there a way to make it so i can use the skin while they dont have the mod installed? They dont need to be able to see the skin, It is fine if only I do

There's a mod called UnmoddedVersion that allows you to use a modded client to play with unmodded ones, that's assuming your friends play on vanilla, honestly I have never tried this but it should be fine if it's just a skin and not any major mod like more maps or items.

Your friends also wont see the skin unless they have it too. They will see default instead.
