Runald's Band
&
Kjaro's Band
&
The Void Version: Singularity Band (Which you should honestly avoid, its worse)
With his abilities besides Phase Round. (Which requires you to pierce targets to deal enough dmg, hence not working on single targets)
Frag Grenades are still more effective since the Bands deal total damage. (Which goes for a LOT of items, since proc chains are a thing)
That alongside having the Void Cells makes for a neat fireworks show lategame.
The grenades are also off the GCD, so you can use them all while firing other abilities at the same time.
So sorry if I disagree, Grenades are neat, if you use the correct items. (Which is easily done on loop runs)
It's honestly like saying mercs 1 & 2 doesn't work on flying enemies, I mean ofcourse they dont. (You have 2 other abilities and items for that reason, flying enemies are a very small part of the game)
But hey, that's just my opinion.
P.S: Just had an awesome run with grenade commando, 2 shot a grovetender with grenades on stage 3. (Bands OP)
you can make a mod yourself or download a commando changing mod
They can be a bit tricky to aim with but it's not that bad, aim at the ground right in front of you and you'll be good most of the time. The daly isn't that big imo.
But even if not for that, the principal reason I always use them is that they stay relevant past stage 2-3 when you start getting a bit more swarmed with enemies. At which point their AoE really start to shine and suppressive fire just become worse m1 imo.
P.S: if you want an even more awesome grenade run (imo), try to get a brilliant behemoth, it procs and deal damage at each bounce (even tho the bounce itself isn't supposed to do damage) which is very cool.
Cooking would probably be the easiest method. Holding R skips the bounce requirement and makes it cook up to 1 second, same as the og requirement.
Still 'skillful' to remember how long to cook it for to hit a target, and a tradeoff of needing to be in closer range if you want to use the cooking thanks to the shorter timer. Also a DPS loss with multiple 'nades if you're spamming, unless we speed up the cook timer with attack speed. Even then, though.
I've heard alternatives for immediate explosion on hitting a target directly, or sticky properties, but I'm guessing the Gamers in the thread would hiss at that for making it too easy.
Hiss!
keep using suppressive fire so I can stun a few golems
